You are what you do

We believe by building trusted personal relationships everyone does better business.

Our values as a team - and as participants in the ALLOCATE community - reflect this. Shady operators should apply elsewhere.

ALLOCATE values

Integrity

In how we treat others in the ALLOCATE team and in how we do business. Be candid, be honest, be thoughtful, don't gossip

Reliability

If we say we'll do something, we do it. As volunteers no-one has time to chase the other or to check something is done

Selflessness

To pay it forward might be an Americanism but we're here to help make others successful. If that's not your MO, this isn't a good place for you.

Collaboration

Working together with an open mind births innovation - it's the best way to get wheels turning.

Passion

We love supporting tech companies. We don't stand on formality; humour and professionalism are not mutually exclusive. And because our jobs are our lives we want to enjoy every step of the way

Diversity

This is short because it's not complicated: ALLOCATE must strive to be inclusive, diverse in ethnicity and gender across our committee, our speakers and attendees - and of course we do not tolerate discrimination.

It's the job of us all to ensure great diversity: it's right, it's good for society and it's good for business.

Code of conduct

We have a few important ground rules for engaging in ALLOCATE events. We have adopted the following code of conduct which applies equally to all participants, including staff, sponsors, and attendees. This code and related procedures apply to behaviour occurring in all venues, including behaviour outside the scope of event activities — online and in-person— as well as in all one-on-one communications. Our expectation is for all participants to engage and create a positive experience.
Engage fully with the event activities. This means attending all scheduled activities across the event, and committing your time and attention fully. We will allow ample space for you to ensure you can attend to non-event related tasks.
Maintain integrity in how we treat others at the events. Contribute with a give-first approach and sharing openly to help others at the events.
Understand that there will be varying levels of experience at events. For more experienced attendees, approach “newbie” questions as an opportunity to share your wisdom, the same way more experienced mentors did for you previously.
Don’t be afraid to throw out controversial ideas, but please do so in a friendly, open manner.
Be respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences - we encourage healthy debate, not confrontational argument.
Share negative experiences or perspectives fairly and objectively eg. If someone asks about a vendor that you’ve had a bad experience with, share openly what your challenges were with enough information for the audience to make their own judgement on the situation.
Maintain responsibility for sensitive information and confidentiality, before, during and after the event. We won’t share any viewpoints or content without express consent from individuals and we ask you to do the same.
Membership/attendance of ALLOCATE is at the sole discretion of the Directors of ALLOCATE Events Ltd.
